Knitting: puffs, squares, and more

Yes, there has been knitting.  Not much as I usually opt for sleeping instead of knitting but there has been some.  Lots casted on too!

For my Order of the Phoenix mission this term in the HPKCHC, I proposed, accepted, and have begun the mission of knitting 64 hexipuffs for the Beekeeper's quilt I'm making the baby.  I first counted how many I currently had knit and totaled 33.  I've been using them as decoration so far until I have enough for the blanket and begin the task of sewing them together.  Here's a pic of some of the ones I currently have knit and on display.

I also am participating in a KAL with my pride in Gryffindor.  Gryffindor's are lions so we get put in smaller groups inside our house called prides.  We are doing a KAL to knit the Tangled River pattern by Wooly Wormhead.  I cast this on the other night using the leftover from my Calligraphy Cardigan.  The gauge is different so I'm knitting a smaller size...but we'll see how it turns out. :)  Just going to go with it and hope it fits someone's head.

I've also had some finished projects lately!  I was commissioned by a co-worker to knit her a water bottle sling.  I found the pattern and she picked the color.  I think it came out great!  She is happy with it after some modifying of the shoulder strap as it was quite long once you put the weight of the bottle in it.  Lesson: garter stitch stretches!!

I also knit some blanket squares for Carmen's Barknknit Raising Quilt that I think I'm almost ready to start sewing together.  I need to put all the squares out and see how big it is first.  I think I'm at least close to be doing with it. Here are pictures of 2 of the ones I finished last month.

I hope you enjoyed this quick round up of my knitting.  I have a secret project I'm making so I can't post about it but it's on the needles.  It was requested by someone, and don't want this person to know I actually heard their request.  I also have some request for some hats for a friend's kids.  She moved away earlier this year and they live somewhere cold so her kids need new hats!  I'm excited she asked me to knit them for her!

Happy Knitting!!
