The weekend, the dogs, and Special K's great-grandma

This weekend flew by!! First it started with picking up Frankie from the vet on Friday...you would have NEVER known he just got neutered. He was a ball of energy and ready to play. I did my best at keeping him calm. While in the room waiting for them to bring him to me...I saw this painting!
I don't think I have mentioned this before but I LOVE Norman Rockwell. He is one of my favorite painters and the best exhibit I have ever been to was in San Diego with my dad.

When I got home Friday night, I stayed home until Frankie settled down, then ran over to my sister G's house for dinner. Chicken Salad! Yummy!

Saturday morning, I had a spinning meet-up in Largo. We had another great turn out and I got a lot of spinning done! Then I came home and spent the afternoon catching up on tv shows and waiting for Special K to get back from a fishing tournament...I then met them over his dad's house for some dinner. The fresh fish was yummy!

Sunday was spent on the couch, watching movies and shows with Special K, eating, spinning, and knitting! It was a great day. The sad part of the day was when we found out that SK's great grandma passed. She was 94 and had been sick for a while but it was still sad that she passed. SK flew up on Monday night and will be there until Thursday. I miss him.

Now...doggie pictures. So, Jackjack has been really tolerant of Frankie. When I was knitting in bed watching SK pack on sunday night the following occured.

Frankie started like this....as he usually likes to lay....
Boys will be boys
Then he ended up like this and stayed this way for a long while. :) It was cute!
How cute.
Last night while I was laying in bed, binding off my sister's shawl...The three dogs figured there was enough room for all of them.

Well...I hope you liked this packed drive by post! I miss Kenny but I'm really glad he's with his family right now. I just wish I was there with them.

I hope everyone is doing well...and keeping busy! My pack sends their love!

Dogs on Thursday!

Ok...so I know you're wondering...the official decision is that Frankie is now a part of the Barknknit pack! He's fitting in well. We are starting to crate him because he's been marking the house and so we need to get back to serious potty training. He was doing great that first week but I think he's coming into his own. The 30 days are not up but we have decided that it's been 2 weeks and if the owner has not appeared by now that we are keeping him. He's getting neutered tomorrow and he's officially a pack member. We've started teaching him to sit and teaching him his name. Special K is doing great helping with this. We've also realized that Frankie is not a runner and he can hang out and train off a leash in our front yard.

Jackjack and him have bonded as well. They are too cute together. Jackjack is not affectionate with him but lets Frankie get pretty close and also doesn't mind being licked by him. :) Here is proof. They are just too cute!

Frankie also has figured out that the most comfortable spot in the house is by someone. Here he is bonding with Sharimom while she was here. :) I love this picture with the 3 of them on the couch. And sunday night, we had our friends Phil and Catie over for leftovers and they brought their dog Ginger, who like Abby and Frankie LOVES to play. Jackjack saught refuge with Sharimom and Kenny on the loveseat. He's kind of hard to see because he's so dark but there he is. :)
And since well...this is a knitting blog too. Here is the picture I promised of Sharimom in her monkey socks! They fit PERFECTLY!! I like knitting for her so she should probably expect more knitted items. :) And Sharimom if there is something you would like..just let me know!
Ok..well...I hope you liked the triple posting! Have a great day and don't forget to check out the DOT post this week!

Saturday night concert!!!!! Night Ranger and REO Speedwagon!

Saturday night, Sharimom, Special K, and I headed to the Night Ranger/REO Speedwagon concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall. It was my first time going to a concert there and honestly there is NO bad seat! We sat kind of high up in the middle but we still could see really well!

First up was Night Ranger, and literally the moment Sharimom and I stepped into the hall the lights went off and they started! I didn't know too many of their songs but they rocked! Sharimom knew them all and had a blast!
Last up was REO Speedwagon. I knew a couple more of their songs and they were good but the lead singer was bit too political between songs. They were still good!
I took video of both of them but the Night Ranger video all you could hear was the electric guitar so I figured wasn't worth putting up! But it was of their Sister Christian song.

Here is the video fo REO Speedwagon. You may recognize this song. hehehe

We had a great time at the concert and I'm so glad that Sharimom was here and that we got to all go!

SK's birthday party!

Ok...we are going to triple post today! :) This last week was Special K's birthday weekend. He turned the big 25 on Friday and I threw him a birthday party. His mom also flew in Friday to spend the weekend with us! It was great having her here! I miss her already! So...this weekend was jam packed full of activity...that's why we are triple posting!!

First off was Friday, the birthday party! We had family and Kenny's friends over for pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, and the fixins. Some brought Special K gifts even though he said he didn't' want any but I think he liked all the ones he got!
Special K with his mom Sharimom
Special K and me...
Even though we are Cubs fans, my brother-in-law works for the Rays so SK got a Rays shirt. We root for them when they aren't playing the Cubbies.
Special K getting a golf ball retriever from his buddy Jason. Phil and Catie are in the back.
Special K getting a new fishing pole from his dad and step-mom.
SK saying thank you.
Abby making sure that people were paying attention to her.
My family sitting around chatting away.
Frankie enjoying the attention as well. :) I love this picture of him! That's Catie holding him.
And just so I don't get any comments that Jackjack was neglected. Here he is getting attention as well. :)
The party was fun and it was the first time having my whole family over for dinner. The dogs behaved themselves other than Jackjack wanting to steal napkins, Abby wanting to eat food out of the garbage, and Frankie trying to grab someone's plate. But all those are to be expected and people were watching them.

DOT, WIP, and more.

Because I love my MIL and really don't want to be ruffed up when she gets here tomorrow. Here is a blog post! I'm very sorry for neglecting my blog. I've been busy at work, knitting a ton, cleaning house, cleaning dogs, and my back has been hurting. My back is finally feeling better and since I've been on the phone all day at work and needed a break...figured I'd post. Also, I have some great pictures! :)

First off...since Frankie has figured out which is the best chair in the house...Jackjack had decided that he would try it out too. As you can see, he agrees and I have officially lost my brown chair that I found at a rummage sale at my church. :) It's ok though...they will get out if I ask nicely.
Also...the two boy pups in my house have started bonding. The first sign was this....
JackjacknFrankie
When Frankie first came home, Jackjack would not get in the bed if Frankie was up there. This caused issues since Jackjack LOVES the bed! Well...I think he realized that Frankie isn't going any where and that he would have to get used to it. The next thing I do not have pictures or video YET! When I went home early on Tuesday because of my back, I pretty much laid on the couch with the feet up. Jackjack was on the loveseat and Frankie jumped up there and started licking Jack's face and ears. Jackjack has NEVER let any other dog do this. He usually gets up and walks away or moves away. I have now seen this happen multiple times and ever time I'm shocked! I think it's so cute!!

Abby and Frankie are different. They play contstantly...it's quite ridiculous. If they aren't playing they are sleeping. :) They play outside inside and in any room of the house. They have even tried playing on the bed while I was in it. That did not go over well. :) Frankie is not scared of Abby and even when Abby plays a bit to rough and I have to say something...he goes right back for more. :) This has given poor Jackjack a break and now he can choose when to play instead of being constantly harrassed by Abby. It's kind of ironic because now Abby has a doggie like herself to harrass her. :)

Ok...well....I've been knitting. I completed the socks for the MIL who threatened to ruff me up if I didn't post. :) And she will get them tomorrow when she gets here...as long as I don't get ruffed up. :) I'll take pictures of her in them to share on the blog.

I've also cast on for something for my dad. Since he reads my blog, all he gets to know is that for his birthday he is getting something knit from me. :)
I'm pretty sure he can't tell what it is from that picture! It's coming along nicely and faster than I had anticipated. And yes, I know if he does research he can easily find out what I'm knitting him! :)

I've also started knitting fingerless gloves out of my handspun for my co-workers. Two of the girls at work have birthday's in May along with me so I'm making them fingerless gloves for our freezing work place. :) This is the ones for MK out of the hanspun yarn that I dyed with the Love on it. Here's link to the post I shared pictures of the fiber.
Well...again I'm sorry for the neglect! I promise to get better at posting. I really need to fix my camera so I can get soem better pictures on here. Tomorrow is Special K's 25th birthday and we are having a party at our house and his mom is flying in for the weekend! We are going to have a blast!! We are also going to a REO Speedwagon/Night Ranger concert Saturday night!! His mom coming was supposed to be a surprise but Firefox and gmail messed that up...it's ok because he's had a rough week and has had something awesome to look forward to!!

Hope everyone is having a great DOT and don't forget to go over and check out our contest winners! Also have a good weeekend and I promise to try to post. I'm hoping to get a podcast out tonight because I have a great interview and other fun stuff to talk about!!

Happy Knitting, Spinning, and Dog loving!

MIL socks and Missing Bobbins

Hi, how are you? I forced myself to go to the doctor today even though it scared my cough away my doctor gave me cough meds and I'm hoping to take them soon. They have codine in them so I don't want to take it until I'm ready to pass out. I did manage to make it through an hour long recording of a podcast with no coughing but ended up with a big coughing fit when done. Go figure.

I will be uploading the episode either tonight or in the morning. Depending how late I want to stay up until it renders out. :)

So...if you read a comment from a certain Mother-in-law of mine, whom I love and miss dearly, you would have noticed that Sharimom requested that her cold feet up in Ohio need some socks! You know I couldn't possible not start a sock as soon as I could for her! She appreciates my hand knits and reads my blog and is known to listen to my podcast! :) So, you know I love her very much. So, when Special K and I headed to the beach yesterday, so he could wad fish and I could get some sun, I brought along some sock yarn to cast on a sock for her. I also decided that since I am going to knit her socks out of Dream in Color Smooshy, one of my favorite yarns, that I would knit her the same pattern I knit for myself out of this yarn. The Monkey pattern! It's an easy fun knit and they are one of my favorite socks! Check them out at the beach. Like the scenery?
Here is Special K showing me his last catch!
Ok..why the Missing Bobbin? Well, as I've been saying I've been spinning singles for my 3 ply yarn. I only have 3 bobbins and if all of them have a single on them, what am I going to ply them onto? So I came up with a plan! I put a paper towel roll onto a bobbin winder.
Then I set up my make shift lazy kate with the bobbin in it and balled up one of the singles on there. :) This freed up a bobbin and with the roll in the middle prevented a big messy tangle. What do you think?
I tried using it as I would a bobbin in my makeshift lazy kate but it didn't work so I just left it in the box and it rolled around. This seemed to work and so far no tangles!

I'll share finished Yarn pictures later. Must head to drink some cough meds and get a good nights sleep!

Election Day!!

So, I woke up early this morning and took a shower and was out the door by 6:40. I got in line at the voting place in my neighborhood at 6:45. AT 7:25 I was at the front of the line.....to find out that I wasn't at the right place......I am still registered to vote at my sister's address. So, I quickly got out of line and headed over to the other location, which my sister, her husband, and my cousin where in line...I mean at the front of the line!! My brother-in-law refused to let me cut in line so I got in line and waiting. I wasn't done voting until 8:20...but oh well. I did get to knit while waiting so it was ok. Also, their was a stray cat, who kept us all very entertained!! :)

Here's a pic of my knitting in line. I wasn't sure anyone wanted to take my picture or have me take theirs so it's all I got. :) I'm on the decreases of my aunts clapotis!! I can't wait to finish!!

Knitting at the polls. :)

I'm glad it's out of the way but the waiting all day to find out who won is not fun!!

Tonight, Special K and I have invited our dad's to dinner. My dad is still in town and I'll tell you all about our Friday on Wedding Wednesday! I have so much to talk about!! but for now I'll just say that we had fun! We were going to cook dinner but our house isn't very conducive of having people over. We have no dinning area and it's too dark to eat outside. So, we've decided to go out to dinner. His dad and his step-mom are coming along with my dad. Should be interesting because his father was "real mature" this weekend and Special K isn't really happy with him. I'm sure they will be fine with my dad there.

I really wish that Special K's mom was here because I can't wait for them to meet. I am a huge fan of his mom!! I miss her and can't wait for her to get here for the wedding.

Well...hope everyone has a great day! I've been super busy but am trying to get a post in here and there. After Friday, I'm feeling that there is a bunch more I need to get done! Breathing and knitting is keeping me sane. hehehe

Happy Election Day!! God has a plan!

DC Day 4 - Last but not least

We got home safely last night. All 34 of us, 29 kids and 5 chaperones. I was too tired to post last night but here's a quick one. We are heading to St. Augustine in about 2 hrs and I'm doing laundry, re-packing, and getting my house and dogs ready for my step-sister. :)

Ok...so quickly...We started off the day, packing the bus with all the luggage and picking up the tour guide. Then we headed to the Jefferson Monument. I love the building, which I didn't get a good picture of and I just think he looks so regal and big. I did a lot of walking and knitting this day so the sock does grow a bit between pictures. :)

See...he's big. He's 19 feet tall, the 2nd tallest statue in DC, with the Liberty statute on the Capital being the biggest at 19.5 feet.
He's got a great view as well. I wish all the Cherry Blossoms had been in bloom.

Next stop another one of my favorites, Roosevelt Park. He's one of my favorite presidents. I love all the water features of this park, which I didn't get a picture of. Oh well.
Had to get a picture of his puppy with my sock. :)

And of course his wife.
Next stop was the Vietnam, which I didn't get a picture of the wall because I didn't feel it was respectful to place my sock on it and one of our kids was placing a picture of her cousin who was on the wall, and doing a rubbing so we were helping her. She cried a little even though she had never met him. It was moving. I do love the statutes around the wall as well.

Next up was the WWII Memorial. I got some pictures of my sock with places on the wall. First was Florida of course, since that is where I live. Then Ohio for Special K and Sharimom.
The Pacific side which I grew up on. And I wanted to get some water in there. :)
And last was Puerto Rico for my mother.
Well, from there we headed to lunch at the Old Post Office Building and then to the Spy Museum which is awesome. We can't take pictures in there so none to show. After that we swung by the Peterson House and the Einstein Statue and then off to the airport. I didn't get any more pictures from those. I was exhausted at the point and I knit a little more but honestly I spent most the time getting the kids organized and then relaxing with my ipod and fellow podcasters voices. I caught up on some good ones.

Ok...welll...I better jump in the shower and get ready to go. Special K is getting off today at noon, and hopefully we'll be on the road by 12:30. My friend, who I'm test knitting for should be here around then to drop of the supplies so I can get started.

I've also got to pick up a cake that I ordered for Special K from Publix. He loves their cake so I called this morning and had them rush me a 1 year old cake for him. It's a surprise!!

I hope you all have a great weekend. I'm not brining my laptop so I won't be able to talk much until Sunday. I miss you all!!

Happy Knitting and Traveling!!

Wedding Wednesday

At a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, “Why is the bride dressed in white?” “Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life.” The child thought about this for a moment, then said, “So why is the groom wearing black?”

Thought I would to start with a silly. :) I found this on a blog I read Dream Weddings on a Budget. It has some great advice and wonderful pictures. The main website is designed well and I have found it helpful. The post a couple days ago was this joke that I saved to share with you guys today.

My wedding plans this week have been the guest list. I started last week off with 207 and then started moving people to list B and cut out some of my friends kids. I ended up with 174ish. I like the ish part. :) Special K still hasn't looked at the list and put anyone on the list B but I worked hard on it. We still have time to finalize it but I gave the # of save the dates to my sister and they are working on them I think this weekend. I can't wait to see them.

We've also been starting to collect everyone's address. This is a chore. I have Sharimom on it for Special K because I know that he won't do it. He looked at me like I was crazy when I asked him so I just emailed Sharimom and mentioned it to her. :)

After we address and send those out I'm hoping to head to the sports bar with my sister and start thinking of what we want to use to decorate it. I also need to find a florist. I have pictures of what I want my bouquet to look like but we'll see.

Things still needed to think about are plenty. Stuff that comes to mind right now are the rehearsal dinner plans, bridesmaid dresses, and tux rental places. The list could go on and on but I'm thinking a step at a time.

Happy Wednesday!! (Do you say Happy Ash Wednesday?? I'm still thinking of what to work on over the lenten season.)

Goodbye Dixie. You will be missed.

Sad news today from Ohio. Dixie, sharimom's beloved cat had to be put down. He will be greatly missed by both Special K and sharimom. As sharimom shared with me that Dixie had a girls name because they thought he was a girl for a long time. Sharimom also said "He was my bestus boyfriend and loved me unconditionally. I miss him so much my heart hurts. The other cats wonder around looking for him. I tell them that he's gone on to save us a seat." She has three other cats but as we discussed on the phone they each are different and have a different meaning to you. They are like children and none can replace the other. Please send out good wishes to sharimom today as she mourns a loss.

Dixie at his finest.

Knitting: I also wanted to share with you my progress on my Monkey sock. I've pretty much memorized the pattern and am onto the foot. Hopefully will finish soon so I can cast on for the second one. I got a lot of it done while watching Special K play tennis with his father. Was a tough match and they both enjoyed themselves. It was the first time they have played tennis together so it was interesting. Hope they play more often and that my toe heals so I can join in.

Happy Knitting!!

SiCKO...RANT!!!!

(I wasn't going to post this post because I felt it was too political and may offend someone and the last thing I want to do is offend anyone. But as I sit on the phone with my insurance company trying to figure out stuff and I want to SCREAM at the poor people on the other end who are just doing their job, I am inclined to post and see what others say and what you feel about this. Again if you are offended I am sorry and if you don't want to read my rant about our health care system please feel free to pass.) All type in red was added today!

I am depressed at the moment(and still am). We started watching the Micheal Moore movie SiCKO last night(Saturday night) and it made me SadO...we ended up having to finish it today(Sunday). If you haven't seen it you should. I'm not sure how factual it is or what the "critics" say but it was depressing for me. I told Special K that I would like to pack up and move to Canada I never really thought about anything different than what we have as our health care system...but ours SUCKS!! As a person who has college debt and is now trying to figure out who is supposed to pay the medical bills from the accident I was in over Thanksgiving...this movie made me want to pack up and move to a country that has free college education and universal health care....VIVA LA FRANCE!!

I've always loved living in the US but now I'm wondering. I grew up in Panama with military insurance from my father working for the DoDD Schools(Department of Defense Dependent Schools) down there. I never really thought about health care. I actually spent quite a few years without any health care. I tried to stay healthy and even dabbled in western medicine...I would stick with it if it wasn't so expensive in the US. I swear acupuncture, herbs and preventative care is wonderful. When I graduated and started my first "real" job with insurance I thought "hey, now I can go to the doctor when I'm sick or if something happens and I'm covered." Covered, what does that mean?? I am still trying to figure it out.

I hope that everything gets figured out and with this pending bone chip...I wonder how much will get covered and how much I will have to pay out of pocket.(Both my doctor and hospital are in network but I'm still going to have a bit of out of pocket expense)

Back to the movie for a second it was amazing how those people were treated in Cuba of all places and for free and got their medicine for pennies...while their doctors here wouldn't even give them the test they needed and charged them outrageous amounts of money for their medications. What are we doing in America to help our sick and heroes no less? If you haven't seen the movie I'm sorry I'm not being detailed but watch it and you will understand.

I hope I am not offending anyone by talking about this on my knitting blog...I am sorry in advance for that. I know it's political and I am in no way a huge political person. I just wanted to express my frustrations at the moment with all the money that is supposed to come from some where to pay for our health and education.

I'm now planning on paying more attention to our candidates and see where they stand on this. I guess it's partly my fault for not paying more attention to our governments actions but I am naive in the thinking they will take care of their people and we will all live happily ever after. I am usually not so morose and synical but that movie just got me in a mood. I'm sure I'll be fine soon.

Well...I'm off to enjoy our one year anniversary with Special K. We both took the day or half day off to spend with each other. Should brighten my mood. Hope that you will still read my blog after this post.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Catch up....it's about time!!

Wow...it's been 8 days since I last posted. I do believe this is the longest I've gone between posts. So you can only imagine I've been pretty busy and away from my computer. I am never very far from my computer and usually have time to play but with the holidays, my brother in town, and Special K off work(which is rare)...I have not had time to sit and blog. Don't get me wrong I missed it and thought about it but I just haven't sat down...until today. I'm sad I missed Wedding Wednesday and Dogs on Thursday this week.....I promise not to let this happen again...Oh and there will be another theme day starting next week....It's going to be a surprise!!!

A lot has been going on in the last week...we got off for Christmas break but I have been working "extra" care at school. This is always an interesting experience for me. I am not the biggest fan of watching a bunch of K-3rd graders, whose parents can barely handle but the kids always surprise me. I actually had 7 kids today drawing, which if you'd seen them 15 minutes before you would be surprised that I was able to accomplish this. They were enjoying themselves and seemed to not want to stop drawing for lunch. Score one point for gnat!!...but the kids sad to stay, still probably have 5 points. I'm much better with my middle schoolers than I am with the Kindergarteners. They love me but I am not as sensitive sometimes as I think I should be. I am working on this.

I do get time to knit while working so that's been good. Last Friday I spent probably the whole day working on a hat for my sister. :) She knows that I'm making it for her but not what it looks like so no pictures yet. It's part of her Christmas gift...I am her secret Santa. I knit her a couple things and bought her something small and she emailed me asking me to knit her a hat because she saw the one I'm knitting Surfer Girl, which by the way isn't done yet either. UGH!! Well...I spoiled the surprise and told her that I was her secret Santa and if she could handle the package being late I would knit her a hat. I picked an awesome pattern out and started knitting it last Friday. I got halfway done that day...my wrist hurt I was knitting so much. :) Then the weekend came and my brother...well, the holiday's didn't allow much knitting time for me...unfortunately.

So...I worked on it here and there but I was at the part of the pattern I need to give it a lot of attention. So...hence I finally finished it yesterday and lo and behold...it was TOO small. I about CRIED!! It would fit a 3rd grader but not my sister or my head. So...the final decision after some pouting and fussing was to rip it back and add more rounds. Holding back tears I ripped back about 20 rounds. I put it back on the needles and sat and stared at it. I need to pick it up and finish it today but it and I need space before I just take scissors to it. It will look great when I'm done though I will have to say that. :)

Between all the pouting and fussing over Cris' hat I did manage to knit myself a simple Ipod sock using some left over yarn from my Fawkes socks.

My dear Fiancee Special K, bought me a red Ipod Nano as one of my Christmas gifts. He spoiled me rotten this Christmas with the ipod, two gift certificates, two knitting books, two omelet pans, a knife, and his love. :) I did not knit him anything because he doesn't appreciate my hand knits like most people, but that's ok. I bought him a wallet and filled it with pictures of us and his family. I got him his favorite chocolate, a BBQ utensil set, a tee that says "morning people suck", and my brother went in with me on a tennis racket, tennis balls, and a headband. Special K just learned to play tennis so we figured he'd need some supplies. We actually have a date with my niece and nephew tonight to play. :)

Well...I could go on forever but I always feel I need more pictures if I'm going to ramble too long. :) Thank you for those who sent comments for sharimom. We missed her during the holidays but we did get an awesome package for Christmas from her. I need to take some pictures and I'll post when I can. Another holiday weekend is upon us so I doubt I will be by the computer much but I will try to take pictures and get a head start on some post to share.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and plan on having a wonderful NEW YEAR!!

Happy Knitting!!!

Christmas Decorations, Dogs on Thursday, and Backyard Fun...

Please keep Sharimom, Special K's mother in your prayers. Her father's funeral was today and I know it's not an easy day for Special K's family. Also..Happy Birthday to Sharimom as well. Her birthday was yesterday.

I promised Sharimom pictures of our house a LONG time ago. So...finally here they are.

Our lights outside.

Our pretty Christmas Tree!! We got a fake tree this year from Special K's boss. I miss the pine scent but I love my tree. The crucifix that is hanging next to the tree was my grandmother's and has been in our family for a long time. She passed it down to my father and I asked him for it and thankfully he gave it to me. I've never been too fond of crucifixes but this one has a lot of meaning.

Dogs on Thursday post is a BIG thank you to my DOT Ornament Swap Pal, Vivian. She did a great job on my package. She sent Jack and Abby toys and treats. This picture was great but notice they won't even look at the treats because they were told to leave it. :) I'm actually pretty proud of both of them for not stealing it early.
I was really proud of these pictures too. They sat there until I was done taking the pictures and then when I said "ok." They looked at me like are you sure and then both separated and chowed down.

Again Thank you so much Vivian....from Jackjack and Abigail.

Last but not least our weekend outdoor fun... our sod....And yes, we laid sod in December....only in Florida can you do that. :) Special K's dad, Coach Dad, promised it should turn green in a week if we water it every day. I've been diligently watering and hoping to come home to green where our sand pit used to be.

Also we have this shed in our backyard that holds our washer and dryer and it must be the oldest shed that was not put together well. The door has been driving Special K and I crazy for months. This weekend Special K, as I was laying the sod, decided to rehang the door and replace the latch so it will stay closed. Kind of a bad picture but the latch totally works and is great!!! GO Special K and his handy work!!!

Well, I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. Today was technically my last day at work but since I'm saving up to pay for the rest of my dress I decided to work extra-care at school for the break so I can make some extra money. That means I'll be back here really early tomorrow to take care of the elementary school kids...and a couple times over the break. I don't mind extra-care on most day so we'll see. I'm going to bring my knitting so I can finish up on my Christmas knits.

Happy Knitting/Dogs on Thursday!!!

PS....Our St. Pete Stitch n Bitch is going great. We had so much fun last night. I organized a small holiday gift exchange and it went well. I'm so glad I started this group and have met such great people!!!
