Just a quick note, Jackjack has never hurt any of these dogs that he barks at. He doesn't bite them but bark and run around them. :) Like he does in the video but closer and without the fence. :)
So, just so you know the sequence of events of how this starts, Kenny or I will let them out and 2 seconds later this begins....
After I took this video, I did what I normally do. I get Jackjack and make him sit next to the fence and calm down. He can look but no barking. SK doesn't do this but I feel he needs to learn to be calm around the dog on the other side. Trying to teach him there is another way. :)
He's so good when he just sits there and stays. :) After this was taken, we came inside so mom could go to work! OH and we had already been for a walk before all of this...you would think Jackjack would be a little tired. :)
And becaus she is cute and crazy! Here is Abby smelling the fence pole instead of coming inside. :) She is just too silly.
Hope everyone has a great DOT day! And don't forget to go check out our post this week and join our contest!
Happy Dogs on Thursday!

Love the video! Happy DOT! It's our 15th anniversary today so am not doing a DOT post this week. Have a great day at work and hope you find some knittin' time!
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs!
What is it about boys and their territory!?!
ReplyDeleteBoys!! Although Gretchen is VERY terriorial too...
ReplyDeleteI've seen several episodes of the Dog Whisperer where he trains dogs to calmly walk past fences that other dogs are barking behind. It's amazing to see how getting your dog under control (i.e. teaching them to ignore the barking dog) eventually leads the other dog (the barking one) to calm down as well. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteLol, I played the video and I am not sure what Jack Jack was saying but he sure got Honeydew's attention! She jumped up from her nap and was trying to see where the other dog was! Too funny!
ReplyDeletesweet video, don't you just love the fact that dogs have such great personalities.happpy DOT.
ReplyDeleteLOL... cute video...and I do have to laugh because that happens INSIDE our house whenever someone walks by on the street with a dog...
ReplyDeleteFence running is a hard habit to break, but you need to try. It can lead to aggression problems between the dogs on each side of the fence. Even dogs that are normally friends can become aggressive toward each other when fence running becomes involved.
ReplyDeleteOscar used to do something similar while looking out the window. He'd run back and forth from one window to another... then he'd run in the great room and look and me and my husband as if to say "Aren't you going to *do* something???"
ReplyDeleteSilly wiener dog.
So cute! Diamond is actually more territorial than the boys!
ReplyDeleteHe has a lot of stuff to tell the little white poof of a dog.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good to take the time to "discipline" JackJack. He's got a great mama.
ReplyDeleteToo cute. Probably the highlight of their day besides napping on the couch.
ReplyDeleteMy male dog barks whenever anyone walks by and he incites the female to join in the barking. It drives us crazy too.
