Knitting and Bucs game!!

This weekend was a good one. :)

I had a school charity auction to attend on Friday night and it was a fun time. There was a knit sweater there donated by a parent...I won't say much about it other than I'm not sure it sold. I think next year I'm going to have the knitting group make an afghan to donate.

Saturday I spent catching up on knitting and my shows. In the afternoon, I took the pups to the dog park...brought my camera but the battery was dead. I picked up my step-sister and she spent the rest of the day hanging out. We had a great dinner and spent time by the fire. It's nice and cool out so it's a great time to have a fire pit. :)

Sunday we got an early start tailgating for the Bucs game. Special K got tickets from his boss's wife. We left around 9am and were there and set up by 10...game start time was 1pm. I sat around and knit while we waited for his boss and friends. Check out the progress I had on my "Fawkes" sock. Lovely...just lovely.
The game was a pretty good one with the Bucs taking the lead early and keeping it through the game. The nice cool breeze was scarce but we survived the barring down sun.
Special K wore his funky Buccaneer hat. We had a good time. :) Well, the rest of Sunday was spent relaxing and recouping from the heat. Last night we were able to sleep with the windows open and I pretty much froze. I get cold easily...but the temperature is making me want to knit, knit, knit!!

Happy Knitting!!

PS. Hope you like the new banner. It may change but for now it works.

  1. Hey Gnat! The banner looks good from here, lol. And your Fawkes looks suspiciously like my Monkey...hmmm Looks like great fun at the football game. The Saint and son went to see the Lions roll over whoever they played yesterday. I don't think the opposing team actually showed up for the game, ROFL. Me, I'm just not a fan of football. Give me a good Pistons or Tigers game anytime though. hehe Have a great week.

  6. Great game pics!!! Isn't it fun to knit while tailgating? I've been doing it at the NASCAR races.. you get some weird stares sometimes, then you overhear someone walk by "Damn, I should've brought MY knitting... look at her!" LOL
    Cute pic of you two!

  7. Everyone around here is big into football but it's hard for me to keep track 'cause we have American and Canadian - drives me nuts! Looks like you guys had a ton of fun on Sunday.
Knitting a sweater for an auctions seems like a bad idea to me all around - even if it's fantastic it still going to have to fit someone and everything. Your afghan idea sounds so much better. You have to let us know how the group is working out.
