Wedding Wednesday!! INVITES!!

So....just a quick drive by post to share my AWESOME and AMAZING wedding invites. Thankfully my sister took great pictures and changed the information on them so she could post them to her blog. So, I'm going to cheat and just send you over there to check them out! :) Let me know what you think? Did I say she was a genius? Well...she did a great job!

Ok...other than that I've been getting a lot of wedding things done. I bought my wedding shoes...some white flip flops that are wedges yesterday during lunch and I love them!! I also talked to my photographer who is meeting up with me and my dad at the venue on Friday to check it out. And I'm taking Friday off to drag my dad around to do a bunch of stuff while he's in town. :) We are just starting with coffee and the venue and then from there he has no clue what he's gotten into. I have my list of places and things to do! He's wasn't feeling good yesterday so I'm really hoping that he gets better before Friday! Saturday I have my dress alteration apt at noon...so that's why I needed to get my shoes this week. So, I'm hoping to get a ton done this week and then work on a couple things a week until the wedding gets here. :) I'm getting pretty excited about it!

So...that being said...I'M STILL BABYSITTING!! The parents called on our way to school yesterday and said that they were stuck in Athens and wouldn't be getting back until tonight. Their plane lands at 10:30....ugh it's going to be a late night! The girls have also really started missing their parents. They had trouble going to be last night and then the youngest came into the room I'm sleeping at 6am crying because she missed her mom. We called and both cell phones were off so I explained how that is great news because it means they are on a plane!! That cheered her up. Hope there are no more delays. I am so ready to go home and have my life back. It's been tough on the girls, me and....SK and my poor puppies who I MISS SO MUCH!! This 10 day babysitting gig has turned into 11 which is fine but not expected!

Ok...well..I hope all is well with everyone. I've been knitting and haven't spun since last week. This weekend went by in a blur. This weekend will be packed too....so I just hope to stay healthy and get some knitting and spinning done while I can!

Puppy Birthday!

Ok...so I have to admit I don't know the actual date of either one of my puppies birthdays. This is sad I know. Jackjack, I got from the SPCA and they didn't know his birthdate and even though they said he came in with AKC papers wouldn't tell me the exact date. They only said that he was 18 months old and his original name was Blackjack(which I didn't like and cut it to Jack, which then because Jackjack). Abigail Grace was rescued from a neglectful owner by a friend of my sisters. Her AKC papers were lost by her first owner and I never really found out her exact birthday either. I only knew she was 9 months when I got her. So, after realizing that they both need their day...thanks to Chan. :) I made up one.

So....officially from now on. Jackjack's birthday will be July 23, 2003. And Abigail Grace's birthday will be October 14, 2005. :) So, Happy Belated Birthday Abigail!!

The first year I had her I actually threw her a birthday party of her very own!! Jackjack was still recovering from his accident so it's was all her day. I threw it at a local dog park and a bunch of friends and their dogs came and we had doggie cake and everything! :) Here is a great picture of me and my girl from the party!! :) What a cutie she was and is!

Looking at her back then...I think she looks so calm! What happened...but she was just as crazy then and she is now but she just didn't have a lot of room in the house to be as crazy as she is now. :) She is so smart though! My girl! I miss her and Jackjack and can't wait to get back to them...and get back to our training.

Oh yeah...GO RAYS!!

Also if you are wondering what happeneing to the Knit in Barknknit. :) I will post up some WIP pictures soon. I have been knitting and spinning. I'm almost done with the BFL fiber I've been working on and I'm 3/4 through the sweater and about a 1/4 into the Clapotis!! I really thought I'd get more knitting done this week but I've been so tired!!

Dogs on Thursday!!

Hello!! Seems like the past week has flown by! Work has been busy and Life even busier. I'm babysitting some girls that go to the old school I used to teach at. I have them for 10 days starting this past saturday...all has been going good. They are fed, bathed, and we haven't made it anywhere late. I think that is a great sign! :) It's not my first time I've babysat them...they are great girls and are very good at getting dressed and eating breakfast by themselves. hehehe. One is also in school with my nephew Crazy Boy, so he spends most the weekend days with us.

This weekend, we have a Halloween party Friday night...which I really hope my sister, Fleas goes to so I'm not hanging out with too many parents I don't know. Saturday, SK and I have our 3rd pre-maritail counseling session, so I have to get a babysitter for the babysitter...but it's ok if it's Fleas...who the parents know. :) Then Saturday afternoon...BOWLING party!! Fun fun fun!!

Well...I've been trying to write this post for two days now. It started Wednesday. :) Well...not being home I miss my puppies and then miss me I hope...However...if you check out the following two pictures I think I'm going to be sleeping on the couch when I do get back home. :)

Dogs on Thursday on Friday!

So...I don't have any new pictures of my pups because I used them all on Monday but oh well. So, this morning I was searching the house for our Kongs. We have three of them. Two Red ones, which we use the most and one smaller one that's pink and white. Now, you would think since we have three I'd be able to find at least 2 so I could give them one this morning. But...NO...we have lost two of them...and i can't very well only give one to one dog. That is unfair!! Ugh...so I searched the house and I searched the backyard and none to be found. So I resigned to giving them tons of treats and heading to work so I wasn't late. I'm hoping I can find the two missing ones because I know they love them. Check them out! They are lost in their Kongs once they get them.


Well....I hope I can find the missing ones soon. I bought some wet food so I could fill them up with something other than Special K's peanut butter and it's sad I can't find them. Well...hope you enjoy the cute pictures...even though they are old.

And I figured I'd throw one more in. This is Abbs and me playing on the bed and Jackjack "montoring" the play! ;)

Sleepy Dogs!

So, we have finally finished dog proofing our kitchen. We've been coming home lately to the cabinets open and Tupperware throughout the house in pieces and a couple days we came home to the dog food container tipped over and less food. It's all Jackjack, we know this because when Abby is left at home by herself, nothing happens. So, we've placed the dog food container in the closet on our back porch until we can buy a new Jackjack proof one. Side note, I had this container for over a year and he had only figured out how to chew on it before now. And yes my dogs get fed regularly in the morning and at night. They never go hungry and they get tons of treats...yet, Jackjack is always looking for more. If you remember, he is my countersurfer. We've also bought more baby locks for the rest of the cabinets so I don't run out of all my containers. Well...since all this excitement...they get a little sleepy! At least that's why Jackjack is so sleepy. Check him out in his favorite spot. Kind of hard to see the black dog in the dark.And then there is Abigail, who has found a new favorite place to sleep and has claimed a pillow. :) Here she is on Saturday after a long morning of meeting new dogs and being at the pet walk. She still has her bandana on. Again last night, she plopped down on her pillow and fell fast asleep.
So...there are my trouble makers...you would never know with these pictures. :) Hope you enjoy!!

A little taste of dye.

So, today was a busy one. We woke up and went to church. Then came home and cleaned house and I got a chance to dye fiber. I tried a couple different techniques that I have tried before and one new one. :) This is inspired by Violet from Lime n Violets inspiration line. I figured how could I go wrong with Love. :) I'm not sure I'm going to sell this one because one it came out great but 2 it's one of the left over fibers that Abby kind of got into and it's not completely whole. All the ones that are up for sale have never been touched by Abby. Only the ones I've kept to learn new techniques. So...what do you think??

I'll take a picture of it in a braid tomorrow in the light because it's very pretty...as well as the other ones. :)

This one is fall inspired...I LOVE IT!!! It's 8oz..my first time dyeing fiber in 8 oz batches.TH

This next one was my first winter inspired one but came out really bright. I love it though. It was done in a pot. I used a stick to prop it up to dye the variegationTh.
Next is the one that Special K inspired. It's winter but it's a little grayer and I think it came out great. This is another 8oz batch. :)
I had so much fun, however, Special K said the house was hot and smelled like a farm animal so he plans to stay away next fiber dyeing session. :) I had so much fun. I can't wait to get some yarn to try. I should be getting some in next month or I may have to wait until after the wedding but we'll see what happens. Most of these will be up for sale at barknknit.etsy.com. I have some of the previously dyed fibers up there now.

Hope you guys enjoyed the fibery fun. I got a chance to podcast tonight. It's a longer one that normal and i did NO editing so bare with me. :) It's rendering right now. I hope it sounds ok. :) I'll have to listen as soon as it's done! :)

FO Alert!!

I forgot to tell you all that I finally finished my 9-5 socks!! I wore them to work today!! they kept me nice and toasty! They came out nice...not that you can see them that great in this picture! :)I've been kind of stressed today but I talked to some sister's and my dad and I'm feeling much better.... I'm now off to softball...have a great night!!

Dogs on Thursday!

For this week's Dogs on Thursday post, I wanted to put up a better picture of the Charm that Darcy from Darcy's Knotty Knitter sent me, which was made by Leslie Winds made. I don't think I've mentioned how much I love it. I have worn it every day since I got it. I love that it has Jackjack and Abigail's names on it. It makes it so special.


I have been wanting to share this picture of Abby because she just kind of fell asleep like this. I thought it was so cute!!! It's my handspun I'm working on.

Another Dyeing Experience!!

I just realized I didn't share pictures of my last adventure with dyeing!! It was so much fun and I learned a lot. I hope to dye more fiber and soon some yarns!! What do you think??

This was a Kettle dye experience with deep purple. I had planned on it being a variegated purple but it came out this pretty blue and deep purple. I love it!!

Purpley Blue Falkland Wool Top 4 oz.

Next two are hand dyed and then steamed. I like them both and I learned a lot with this technique.

Blue and Red make ? Merino 3 oz.

I wasn't sure what I was thinking with these colors but they remind me of Halloween so I really like them. :) I might try this again with the black but with an orange instead of red. :)

Goulish Blood BFL 4 oz.

This last roving is my favorite! So vibrant and beautiful. It came about because I still had dye left over from the previous hand dyed rovings and since I learned from the first two rovings...I think it came out the best. Also the Domestic Wool Blend takes the dye so beautifully!!

Almost Rainbow Domestic Fiber 4 oz.

All the fiber is on sale either on etsy or barknknit.com. I'm planning on dyeing more so keep posted!!

Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month.

Along with Breast Cancer Awareness month...October is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month! If you are looking for a dog, please go check your local shelters!! For those of you looking...remember you can find all kinds of dogs at shelters in your area. If you are looking for a specific breed, contact the breed rescue in your area.

I'm not quite ready to go and adopt another dog but my Jackjack was an SPCA boy for more than two months. Bringing him home was one of the best idea's I've had. I am thankful that he is in my life and has taught me so much. He is my baby!

So...please check out local events in your area this month. We have two going on. One is this Saturday, which I'm still looking for donations for...check right rail, It's the Walk to help raise money to stop overpopulation by providing cheap spay and neutering. The one next saturday is the SCPA's Pet Walk. Abby and I will be at that one too!
